“What’s Your Problem with the Qur’an?”

A few years ago, I discipled a student named Tyler who has a huge heart for reaching Muslim students with the Gospel. He began to learn about their beliefs and culture. He went to some of their Muslim Student Association meetings and began befriending some of the students. He stuck out, because he was obviously the only non-Muslim there.

After one meeting, the president of the organization, the son of an Imam, asked Tyler to grab a meal with him. Tyler was thrilled. Maybe this would be a chance to get to know him better and build a friendship, so that he could eventually share the Gospel with him. Tyler anticipated some small talk at first. But the first question out of Shahid’s mouth was “What’s your problem with the Qur’an?”

Whoa! Tyler was taken aback. How do you respond to a question like that? After all, Muslims in other parts of the world have rioted over insults to Muhammad…
